We're setting up molecules to represent what they might look like in a solid, liquid or gas. We had fun using the pom poms and arranging them how they might look in each state of matter. 

Friday we learned about  matter. There are three states of matter, solid, liquid and gas. All matter is made of molecules. The molecules are close together in a solid, and further apart in a liquid. These molecules change the shape of matter. We changed a solid into a liquid by having a melting race. Who can melt their ice cube the quickest? What needs to be added to the solid to make it a liquid? 

Enjoy the pictures from our winter adventure at ACES Hallam Lake. We searched for clues to help us learn about animals and their homes in the winter. It was a snowy, cold, winter day - perfect for exploring! We even played a few games, watched a puppet show AND got to use our magnifying glasses to look at snowflakes. All before lunch!
